Prepare for Your Baby's Arrival
Attending childbirth education classes can help prepare you for delivery and increase your comfort level in caring for your newborn. The Birthplace at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas is honored to be a part of this exciting time in your life!
Classes fill quickly, so please call us at 702-388-4888 or register online (see registration links below) at the beginning of your second trimester. Our classes are listed below:
Birthplace Tours
For the convenience of our parents-to-be, we are pleased to offer group tours. Please register for group tours at your earliest convenience. Tours are limited to five couples (two people) per session. For everyone’s safety, every person will need to undergo a health screening and wear a mask during their tour.
All tours begin in our Birthplace Lobby, which has 24/7 access. It is located by the main entrance, at 5400 S. Rainbow Blvd (cross street Hacienda).

Group Tours
- The second Sunday of each month at 3, 4 and 5 p.m.
- Thursdays at 5 and 6 p.m.
Childbirth Preparation Class
Whether you are first-time parents or have not had a baby in several years, this course can help you prepare for the childbirth process. Prenatal nutrition, labor, medical procedures, and pain relief methods will be covered, including vaginal and cesarean births, induction of labor, epidurals, breathing techniques, relaxation and more! Expectant mothers are encouraged to bring a support person along for the class.

Price: $50 per couple
Reminder: Saturday classes are for one day, 9 am to 4 pm. Signing up for Tuesday evening classes are for two Tuesdays in a row — the date you signed up for and the following Tuesday.
Start classes one month before your due date. Bring two pillows and wear comfortable clothes.

Breastfeeding Class
Breastfeeding is a positive choice for you and your new baby. A certified lactation consultant will provide you with the tools necessary for a successful experience and give you the confidence to succeed! We ask that you bring a stuffed animal for demonstration purposes. Topics include breastfeeding basics (for cesarean delivery and vaginal delivery), positioning, latch-on, weaning, jaundice and dealing with challenges. Strategies for moms returning to work will also be discussed. Women are encouraged to ask their partner or a friend to attend the class with them.

Breastfeeding Support Group
This group meets weekly to support new parents with the challenges of breastfeeding. Led by a certified lactation counselor that can offer evidence-based information and practical tips for all expecting and delivered moms. Join us to meet new moms, get help with latching, and have all your breastfeeding questions answered. Every Thursday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Conference Room B. No sign-up required.
Pre-natal/Post-natal Yoga
This class helps expecting and recently delivered moms to improve their pelvic flexibility and strength. In addition, this class can help with relaxation to reduce stress and improve sleep during and post-pregnancy through learned breathing techniques.
Enter through the lobby of the Women's Center across from the main entrance at 5400 S. Rainbow Blvd. (cross street Hacienda).
Daddy Boot Camp
This class is taught by a dad who is a neonatal ICU nurse. You'll learn what to expect before, during and after delivery; how to help mom after delivery; basic newborn care such as feeding, diapering, crying and swaddling; and how to establish a new home-life balance with your growing family.
