Childbirth Education Classes

Attending childbirth education classes can help prepare you for delivery and increase your comfort level in caring for your newborn. The Birthplace at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas is honored to be a part of this exciting time in your life!

Classes fill quickly, so please call us at 702-388-4888 or register online (see registration links below) at the beginning of your second trimester. Our classes are listed below:

Birthplace Tours

We are pleased to offer families-to-be a tour of the Birthplace at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center. Tours include viewing our all-private labor, delivery and recovery rooms and our postpartum patient care rooms. We are also very pleased to offer a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit but, for patient safety and privacy reasons, this area is not available during tours. We ask that you do not bring children to the tours. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Only one ticket is needed per couple.

Dates: One Sunday a month at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Location: Meet in the waiting area of the Birthplace

Childbirth Preparation Class

Whether you are first-time parents or have not had a child in several years, we can help you prepare for the childbirth process. Learn about vaginal births, cesarean births, how to support your partner, differences between true and false labor, pain management, postpartum and prenatal comfort care for mom and relaxation and breathing techniques.

Dates: Tuesdays (6 to 8 p.m. for 3 weeks) or Saturdays (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Location: Conference Room B
Price: $40 per couple

Start classes ONE Month before your due date. Bring two pillows and wear comfortable clothes.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding a newborn can be challenging during the first few weeks of his or her life. In this class, a certified breastfeeding lactation consultant can help you learn how to position your baby, maintain a good supply of milk and solve common problems. Your partner is encouraged to attend.

Dates: One Saturday a month
Times: 10 a.m – noon
Location: Conference Room B
Price: $15 per couple
