ER at Blue Diamond Now Offering $120 Heart Scans

The ER at Blue Diamond, an extension of Spring Valley Hospital, is offering heart scans with calcium scoring for $120, located at 9217 S. Cimarron Road, Las Vegas, 89178.
To schedule a screening, visit springvalleyhospital.com/services/emergency-department and select “Request a Time for a Heart Scan.”
Calcified plaque can clog your arteries and prevent proper blood flow. A preventive screening tool, the heart scan measures the level of calcified plaque in the heart’s arteries. The higher the score, the higher the risk for possible heart or stroke issues.
“We’re pleased to offer this screening to our community,” said Claude Wise, CEO of Spring Valley Hospital. “Preventive screenings and education are critical to knowing what your heart and stroke risk factors can be. Coupled with knowing your blood pressure, weight and lab work results, the heart scan provides another piece of your personal health puzzle that will help you and your physician make important healthcare decisions.”
The heart scan is performed using a CT machine and is available seven days a week between 8 am and 12 pm. On the day of the test, participants should avoid caffeine, tobacco, tea and any stimulants, and should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, no dresses and no wire items above the waist (i.e. underwire bra). ). If you have had a coronary stent placed, you should consult your cardiologist prior to scheduling
The actual CT takes about 10-15 minutes. Upon completion of the test, participants will receive an information packet and a CD with their images. Their calcium score will be available on their Spring Valley Hospital medical records portal within 24 hours. The information can be shared with your primary care physician or cardiologist.
This screening is $120, paid by credit/debit card or cash; insurance will not be billed.
