Spring Valley Hospital Adds 72 Private Rooms for Patient Care

Spring Valley Hospital has officially opened all the patient care units in its west tower, adding a total of 72 private rooms in August 2018. This includes 36 rooms on the third floor for orthopedic and spine surgery patients, which opened in early August, and another 36 rooms on the fourth floor for medical/surgical/neurological patients, which opened in late August. The expansion increases the hospital’s licensed bed count to 364, making it the second largest hospital in The Valley Health System.

“Our goal is to continually meet the needs of our community, including the fast-growing southwest, visitors to the Las Vegas Strip, and transfers from other hospitals” said Leonard Freehof, CEO/Managing Director of Spring Valley Hospital. “We are able to provide advanced cardiovascular, neurological and maternity and neonatal services for our patients and their loved ones.”

The third and fourth floor patient care units complete the four-story west tower. When it first opened in June 2016, the tower added a private, 24-hour entrance to The BirthPlace, 18 additional mother-baby rooms, easy access to all maternity and neonatal intensive care unit services on the first floor, and 36 private rooms on the second floor.

Spring Valley Hospital also hosted a private groundbreaking celebration for its ER at Blue Diamond on the northwest corner of Blue Diamond and Cimarron in September, earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Sepsis Certification in October, and will be the home of the simulation lab for The Valley Health System general surgery residency program, which will begin in July 2019.
