When it comes to acute coronary early assessment, diagnosis and treatment, choose wisely. Choose Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, the only hospital in the southwest to have a certified chest pain center and certified stroke center. To qualify as a certified chest pain center, the hospital must receive accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) and certification in percutaneous coronary intervention. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) includes procedures that utilize a mechanical means to treat patients with partially, or completely restricted, blood flow through an artery of the heart. This family of procedures includes balloon angioplasty and stents. PCI is only available at approximately 25% of hospitals in the United States.
That’s why “Accredited with PCI” is an elite mark of excellence issued only after passing a formal SCPC inspection and review. We are very proud of this accreditation that supports our cardiology mission at Spring Valley … to reduce death caused by heart attack and save lives.
